Artists Jo Weiss and Jill Phillips are both faculty members of the Washington Studio School, but their styles are very different. Jo Weiss focuses on the figure and uses thick layers of paint and heavy brushstrokes. The edges of her figures alternate between sharply defined and blending in the background. Both artists paint from life. We have long admired the paintings of Jo and Jill, and it's exciting to see so much of their new work shown in one space.
