Carved Wood Moose Head by Roost

While fake antlers and taxidermy in general were pronounced a dead fad by the NYTimes last Christmas, it doesn't seem dead to me. In fact, it may just be picking up steam. To get a solid overview of the fake antler field and share with you both the beautiful designs and the knock-offs that it has produced, I've assembled the comprehensive list below. My favorite? Anything Roost does is stunning in my book....

>> Antler Chandeliers by Jason Miller
>> Plywood Wall Trophies by Big Game
>> Ghost Antler Coat Rack by Erich Ginder
>> Roost Carved Deer & Moose Heads at Velocity Art & Design
>> Roost Antler Candlesticks & Lamps at Velocity Art & Design
>> Wood Antlers on a Plaque at Viva Terra
>> Antler Table Lamp & Wall Shelf at West Elm

PLEASE find yourself someone who has wholesale access to get that deer head from Roost directly. I will not even BEGIN to tell you how cheap it is from their catalog!

I really love the carved wood moosehead. He seems so cuddly -- which is weird, I know.

If the NY Times is saying a trend is new (or dead), then it probably died (or was hot) 6 months earlier.
