I'm a big supporter of new design, young design and smart design. Always have been. There's something about the designer's mindset of always wanting to tinker with things and make them better that I love and can identify with. We need these people.
Just two years out of Swarthmore, where he got his BA in Industrial Design Theory, Joey has won a Red Dot Award and now finished the design, manufacture and distribution of his totally original teapot design: the Sorapot.
He came to our Apartment Therapy Offline meetup last month and we got to see it in person. Made of highly machined metal and glass, the Sorapot allows you to not only make tea easily, but it allows you to see the whole process unfold before your eyes. Very cool.
