It's that time again. With Small Cool Month coming to a big conclusion this week (and the final four of the Smallest Coolest Home contest this Thursday), I need to list one of the most important space savers on earth: the folding chair. This is an updated list from last year, and I've found a bunch of fresh solutions...

I have two linea folding chairs and I love the way they look, but just one caveat; the little plastic feet keep cracking and breaking off (this started after I'd had them a couple weeks) and DWR customer service has been absolutely nil about this... no response whatsoever. They do look fab though... :)

Now that we've got the chairs, where can we get SLIPCOVERS? (I've got chairs like the Terji.)

I am in the hunt for folding chairs (preferably durable for outdoors)! But I was let down by this post. Although, some are sexy, the price tag isn't. The options are so limited, I fear buying from..wait for it...home depot or menards! but that is looking like my only option! There is such a huge market for affordable (modern) chairs, and by affordable, I don't mean DWR!

I only buy from DWR during one of their sales. I, too, have the LINA chairs and love them. They look great and are comfortable. I got mine on sale last summer, along with the PINOT cafe table. The sale price, along with the Tax Free day here in New Orleans made them more affordable.

The Ikea Nisse chair I think is a good looking folding chair, especially in the high gloss yellow.

I just bought a 4 set of Ikea Jeff folding chairs in white. For $10 a pop they are unoffensive and useful!

For something a little more traditional, Ballard Designs has a number of options (www.ballarddesigns.com).

I love the light wood on the Bon Chair, but the price is a months rent for me.
I'm getting at least two Bed Bath and Beyond SOHO /Walmart Linon Frienze chairs for $50 each. .They're suprising sturdy and also have an unexpected, yet pleasing look for a folding chair. Plus, it's easy to make simple covers for the backs and seats if I want to change the look.
My building only has stairs, so I'm all about light weight, easy to carry furniture.

I have 4 chairs extremely similar to the Clarity Folding Chair and they are so super uncomfortable. We rarely eat at the dining table because of them. I am not opposed to having them as extra seating that can be stored in a small space, but they will be being replaced as dining chairs when I find an affordable set that suits both our style and our bums!
