Look! Mud Australia, Vienna Snowglobes & Felt Cushions at Hable

These pieces from Mud Australia are beautiful, thin and strong. Made in Mud's Sydney studio from either Limoges or imperial porcelain, they are not your typical ceramics.

~~Thursday's~~ I usually write about something special spotted in someone's home, but this week I was most taken by what I found at Hable Construction's super cute store in Manhattan. I recommend a visit to the store or website, as it will put you right into the holiday spirit, and check out these three items that come from far away, found during Susan Hable's trips abroad...

More Mud

These are felted cushions that fit perfectly on your Ikea Frosta or Alvar Aalto stool (pictured). I loved the color and the texture.

Okay, these things rock. Hable had many of them in different sizes and with different scenes inside. I took this pic from the Wregg website, where they claim to have originated the first snowglobe:

"It was in the year of 1900 when Erwin Perzy I, toymaker to the Kaiser, created the very first snowglobe.
He lived in a house not too far from Schonbrun, Austria, where the beauty of Vienna brought forth his first design, the Basilica of Maria Zell, in a globe that contained snow made from ground rice."
