One of the chief pleasures of blogging over the past four years has been tracking and watching a lot of young designers develop from my front row seat. Connecting readers to resources is what we do, but being able to connect aspiring designers to the marketplace is very gratifying and fun when they take off.
One designer I've gotten to know over the past few years is Tina Shoulders of Laidback Home. Her latest coup is getting her pillows on MTV's Real World Brooklyn (which started last Thursday at 10pm)! With 13 pillows in 3 rooms on the show, she's found her niche, and I want you all to check her out...

With a style that is a great mix of street culture, modern decor and chutzpa, Tina took her experience working at Tommy Hilfiger and J. Crew and went out on her own to start Laidback Home a few years ago...

Starting exclusively with one signature product, high graphic denim pillows, she's been developing her style, enlarging her line and building her one woman business through hard work, a unique style sensibility and an infectious good humor. If you meet Tina, you'll find yourself smiling within three minutes, and her stuff will make you smile too.

I've included pics of the show as well as links to her site and myspace page (she's also on Twitter). Go Tina!

I have been searching for a very deep sectional like the one in the first photograph. Does anybody know the source? Thanks!

Does anyone know where to get that golden gate bridge wall decoration? My gf would love that.

Definitely the Verrazano. Connects Brooklyn to Staten Island.
