London-based Polish design student Mirka McNeill's renovation of a Parisian-style Warsaw apartment was a highlight of the March issue of Living Etc. I visited Mirka at her London house yesterday, where she was in the midst of renovating the Victorian house she shares with her husband and two Bengal cats in Barnes.
When they renovated the kitchen, they lost light in the windowless TV room, which is sandwiched between the raised living room and kitchen. So she decided to run with it "and go magic," Mirka says, with a Moroccan light that casts bewitching shadows.
You can see some of Mirka's work here.

Dear design mavens,
Iowa City has never seen anything like this---I am in love! The romantic designs, the ruby-colored gems, the ability to transport me away from the flat fields of the Midwest. Please...share...where on God's Gorgeous Green Earth may I obtain a replica of this treasure? I'll take substitutes as a close second but your blog and this lighting has captured my heart.
A hearty thank you from the Hawkeye State for introducing me to an entirely new fetish!
Blessings,
Shanti
