AT Europe: A Stylish Warsaw Renovation

mm1.jpg

Mirka McNeill is a London-based former web designer who has combined a career change to interior decorating with real estate investments in her native Warsaw, where she has remodeled three historic apartments with a sensitivity to tradition and a contemporary flair...

Her fantastic Parisian-style apartment in the Old Praga district of Warsaw was featured in the March edition of Living Etc. Here are some photos of another Warsaw apartment located in the city center that she completely remodeled and decorated, which is currently on the market.

Mirka redesigned and rebuilt the space to create a contemporary apartment that was carved out of a mansion from the 1900s. To make the apartment more functional and light, she redesigned the layout by opening up space in the now one-bedroom apartment, which was four separate rooms when she found it. There is now a handsome black and white open-plan kitchen/dining room and a large living room that includes a sofa she designed and a stained glass window that she fitted to the existing window to create interest and colorful shadows. The private bedroom and ensuite bathroom is located at the back of the apartment.

Mirka’s work was recently selected to appear in the 2008 edition of the
Andrew Martin International Design Review. You can see more of her work here.
