apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Calendar Wallpaper from Christiaan Postma

There's something both appealingly retro and anxiety-producing about Stockholm-based Dutch designer Christiian Postma's Calendar Wallpaper, which puts the whole year up so you can see where the time goes (and where it went)...

Here's a clock from Christian Postma that also challenges the way we look at time.

I love the idea of a year long collage but I'm not crazy about this execution.

it's a bit sloppy... tighten up those lines and i would LOVE this somewhere discreet... in my office, or smaller on the back of my closet door. i love the idea of looking back over my whole year!

I don't think you could be more right...it's a great idea but the way they have it displayed turns me off from the product. Lady J had it right...it looks like it belongs in a dorm.

I would love this calendar if it weren't quite so large. As an attorney, I would find this to be a great way to keep track of my hrs and time spent. (Surfing apartmenttherapy.com, of course, would not be listed as one of those activities).

The link takes you to more pics of the clock. The word appears at the hour, at half past one word starts to de-form as the next word forms. I like it a lot, but it's not for remembering appointments.

I think I had something like this on my wall in college!
Looks like they just plotted out big sheets of paper with the months and a bunch of evenly spaced lines.
Sort of lame in execution.

May be nicer as peel and stick decals on a magnetized wall or a chalkboard wall (both painted applications).

I think this would be great with large frames (with the glass removed). It would be simple enough to print out the insert for the frame and you could layer each year's months over each other with something under the current month so it is still easy to write on(so june 2008 under june 2009).

Thanks for posting this. I think that with a little tinkering, it's the perfect thing for my kids to help them keep track of time while their dad is deployed for a year.
