AT Europe Close-Up: Easy Orange Accents

orangeaccents11.jpgIn reviewing some favorite house tours, like Amélie and John's Converted London Warehouse from last week or Raphaëlle and François's lovely Parisian flat, something jumped out: the use of easy orange accents to brighten up beautifully neutral interiors. Then I looked out the window and realized the lesson had been there all along in the view of orange chimneys that punctuate the gray Paris skyline. More orange accents -- this time on the inside -- after the jump.

Here are some favorite uses of orange from recent house tours, starting with this image from Amélie and John's Converted London Warehouse:

Those clay chimneys would look great with plants growing in them, right where they sit!

I love the colours of Paris rooftops - the buffs, the grays, the terra cotta, the blacks. It's one of my favourite horizons.

Um, terracotta isn't exactly orange. It is a great harmonizing color, though.

Others I see are gold and red.
