2-23-housetourlogo.jpgThe owner of this West London Victorian has combined a wealth of handed down family furniture with stylish additions like a Chesterfield sofa, an African drum table, and upholstery in bright pink or jewel tone blues.....

The adjoining living room and dining room have a timeless style that's sophisticated, warm, and inviting. Down the hall, a modern, streamlined kitchen is made of plain marble and walnut wood countertops. Perspex works as a transparent, easy-to-clean backsplash. Floating shelves and cutting boards made from wood remnants keep the look unified.

Most of us would be thrilled at the idea of inheriting a house full of antiques, but it's a mixed blessing. "There's a lot of responsibility involved," says the owner. "I don't even like everything! But you either are unsentimental and you sell it all or you work around it. But I'm wondering if it's a responsibility that I should pass on to the next generation."
