AT Europe: Paris - Repurposed Tord Boontje Garland Light Holiday Wreath

Like many people, I fell for Tord Boontje's Garland Light a few years ago. But it never really worked in my space as the lampshade it was meant to be.

I thought of giving it away, but I was attached to the fairy-like flowers and leaves, and the way it tossed light and made shadows on the walls in the evenings. So I gave it another reason to live. I twisted it around a recycled clothes hanger and made it into a holiday wreath that sparkles in day or evening light. It's so pretty that I sometimes forget to take it down after the holidays. And I always find it funny that people don't recognize it's the Garland Light in disguise when they ask me where I got it.

It's really cute, but I think on that door it suffers from serious scaling issues. It just looks dwarfed. The door needs a more weighty wreath.
