French company Domestic is never afraid to challenge conventional notions of taste or challenge traditional decorating comfort zones with their audacious artist-designed vinyl wall stickers and graphics. But their new collection of signed, limited edition panoramic wallpaper is full of crazy, scene-stealing motifs and designs from artists around the world. It's a collection aimed at revolutionizing the panoramic wallpapers of times past, with their penchant for tame and cheesily reassuring naturescapes. Check out the full designs -- including a map of the Upper West Side as imagined by an Australian artist -- after the jump...
This unapologetically high-spirited "Flower" wallpaper is by Tado (Sheffield-UK-based designers Mike and Katie). "From their tiny studio they work away very hard," the catalog copy at Domestic tells us, "pumping out demented characters and trying their best to make the world a happier place."
If that's too cheerful for you, what about "Car Wreck" from Studio Job:

Or a futuristic "Pastorale" landscape from Pascale Marie:

Or a surreal mountainscape from Finnish-born, Paris-based Kustaa Saksi:

Or why not just give it up and take a trip "Down the Rabbit Hole" from Lausanne-based +41:

And here's a map of the Upper West Side, brought to you by Australian artist and toy designer Jeremyville:

More thrillingly unbridled insanity at Domestic.

I guess time will tell if these designs sale or not.
They seem to be way to overpowering.
You would think they could offer softer looking stuff also.
My vote is NO.

@poptart: But isn't that the point of these designs? To offer an alternative to the "softer looking stuff" available elsewhere? These designs are for people who are looking for something bolder. I, for one, love them!
It's a shame they're so pricey, though. This would really appeal to people living in dorms or apartments where you can't paint or do things to the walls, but most folks in those situations can't afford to spend over $700 on a wall sticker, no matter how cool it is.

they remind me of those cheesy e-card sites you have to sift through before you find a more suitable one.

I think they're groovy. :-)

I'm digging these. They would look fantastic in the right space. I agree with ibislynn that they are too expensive and don't really cater to the people who would really love this.
