When it comes to outdoor space, more isn't always better. Parisians lucky enough to have a balcony attached to their apartments often have space only for two -- a couple of chairs and a small table, room for a few plants or flowerpots, for a tête à tête in the open air...

Hurray for French balconies! Quick French word of the day, meant very kindly because as a translator I know well how endearing "petite" looks to English speakers: balcon, masculine, so it would be "petits balcons". (Mais ne me dites pas qu'AT a pris quelqu'un qui ne parle pas français en France !!)

You can also call them balconnets (which means little balconies). We have one for our apartment and use it to grow a little urban garden (and some geraniums).

A little balcony is better than nothing, but I say, the bigger, the better.

Fraise,
Thanks for the note -- and yes I do speak fluent French! -- but since we are an American blog, I wrote it in English for the English-speakers!

If they will be that small then it helps that they're that beautiful...
