I love BHV. Whenever I go to Paris I always wind up there. Usually it is because I forgot my electrical adapter...but then I wind up buying something colorful & fun for the home or myself while I'm there. They have a pretty amazing umbrella selection there.

This place reminds me of a similar store in tokyo called tokyu hands. I always wish we had a place similar to these in the NY metro area.

I stayed right near Hotel de Ville (on the rue Vielle du Temple, actually), and had no clue about Le Bazar. Darn! Hotel de Ville is one of my husband's favorite buildings in Paris. (Lori2, now you'll have to go to Le Bazar!)

This is perfect. I am going to Paris next month. I want to know all the great local Parisian goodies. I am particularly looking for a modern alarm clock.

Also, do you know the best way to get the treasures home? Post? What are the Customs rules? What are the rules/costs for sending stuff home?

We will be staying part of the visit in the Marais area--so any great shops you see there would be great to know.

I love that shot at the top of this post - all grey with the touches of green and the blue umbrellas. I love these Paris posts too.

It's probably my favorite store in Paris. They had the perfect bathroom sink but I couldn't get it back home... so disappointing. They also have the most wonderful sleek, slender appliances. The kind that are perfect for our wee NYC apartments (only we can't buy them here! sob!) They once had a beautiful kitchenette.....okay I'm beginning to rhapsodize but it's all so wonderful there. Treat yourself to soething packable and unusual like the door knockers:)

Loving the Paris posts too, btw. I have a four hour layover there in a couple of weeks... now I'm tempted to change my flight for a longer stay!

Can Kristin post on Paris every day? Please?

I have been searching for a beautiful, old-world letter opener. I am envisioning a handle in Mother of Pearl and silver. I am thinking Paris is the right place to find such an item. Any suggestions where?

I am also interested in hearing more about Paris flea markets.
