Looking for decor advice online? Today in the Wall Street Journal's Weekend Journal, Christina Lewis gets to the heart of our online culture and bares all the dirty laundry - see "Decorating by Committee." We love it.
Interviewing AT readers as well as those who've gone on HGTV's "Rate My Space," the article covers a lot of ground and argues that online advice for decorating is coming on strong - though one designer calls it "pretty low level stuff." Ha! Although we can't link to the WSJ, we do recommend getting your hand on a copy and weighing in here.

Let me say as more of a design observer, rather than professional, that the response to the recent "What's the right coffee table for this room?" question was a thing of beauty. It was well-focused "Decorating by Committee."

I would love to read the article, but WSJ insists on making it difficult. Unlike the NYT and other mainstream papers wich give free content for seven days, unless you pay, you can't read. I have used up my free temporary subscriptions.
Too bad.
