Quote of the Day from Pic Above: Hey guys, here's the week 5 post, can you believe we've all made it this far and haven't gotten overwhelmed and flaked out yet? I totally think it's all the great support on here. - East Village Amy

This Week's Assignment: In the Deep Treatment, among other things you are diving into the home office and tackling all the computer and electrical tangles that you may have. You are also considering a Media Fast, which is a rather radical part of our household cleaning binge.
As for wireless technology, this simply offers a tremendous design advantage that eliminates wires and clutter for those who work at home on laptops, which is also now easy and inexpensive to set up. Our Unplggd site was started specifically to aid in this area...
In the One Room Workout you will be getting into real color, painting color that is. We had a great time writing this part of the book and remembering all that we had learned over the years about painting. In particular, we were happy to be able to lay out some healthier paint alternatives, though we've found it hard to integrate these choices into NYC life. We'd be interested to hear any tips on this subject.

Barack Obama's getting a puppy, but
JenDavid got a flatscreen! We were talking about TV's today at the office. We all think this is going to be the year of the flatscreen in spades - especially because HD TV is becoming a standard. As far as electronics go, if you have to have one, flat seems the way to go to me.

GENERAL INFO ---------------------------------------------
The Fall Cure is live again in all four of our Home city sites. The Cure posts will go up twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, allowing for plenty of comment space. We will be pulling comments and pics to the front page post on each of these days and everyone is urged to take pics and post them here.
REMEMBER: The goal is to use the group to support, inspire and answer questions as you go. The more you participate, the more you will get out of it. But you may also lurk if you are shy ;-).

I'm very excited about wireless technology coming to my home. Especially with limited outlets in each room, it doesn't always make for the most convenient workspace. And i will be thrilled to be done with cord clutter!

My new tv made AT! Oh, I'm so proud. And football will never be the same for me again.

I dream of a flatscreen. My monolith of a tv/vcr combo feels like it takes up half my living room. Maybe Santa will bring me one!

My 2 year old TV died back in Spetember and we still haven't taken it to be repaired... it's about time! I'm not sure how I'd do a media fast. Does work count?

Getting the wires untangled in my living room will be a chore but it must get done! I recently upgraded to a laptop and have my old desktop in the "outbox" (just waiting to donate the CPU and recycle the gargantuan monitor)...having less wires and less of a presence (that monitor was HUGE) is making a world of difference in my bedroom!

not really sure that i'm cooking MORE (i have 4 kids and have to feed them every day) but i do feel like i'm cooking BETTER!

I guess I will have to change name soon: Maxwell, it's Eliane (French), not Elaine (American). Aaargh... ;)
No tv for me! I threw it out 4 years ago - best decision I ever took. I do go to the movies and read more. Just a laptop and a projector is all that I need. Btw, did you see that super-mini projector? I hope Santa is reading this comments thread! ;)
As for cooking, I enjoy cooking so this gives me maybe a few more excuses to cook. But I think the best part of it, is that I have homemade lunches in the freezer. And that beats any uninspired and overpriced lunch options that I can find around the office! :)

I'm not really cooking more, since my roommate and I already make our own dinners every weeknight, with very few exceptions. I've been packing more lunches, which doesn't really involve cooking in most cases, just assembly.

I've been trying to cook more but it hasn't really taken hold. Though, since it's just me, when I do cook I can usually live off the left overs for a couple more days. The thing I'm trying to get into more is eating breakfast regularly and fixing my own lunch to bring to work (for both health and financial reasons... 6-10 bucks a day for lunch really starts to add up).
I still need a better solution for my cable wire though. My TV is on the opposite side of my room than the jack for the cable, so currently runs on the floor along the wall but part of the time on open exposed carpet where the opening for my dinning area is. I've been debating whether I should move my TV or if I should figure out a way to run the cable around the wall to get it up off the floor (I'm sure they sell special staples for this purpose at either a home improvement or electronics store). What do you guys think?

**UWSretreat: I can't wait to get a laptop, in the meantime, you are so very lucky -- this is how I deal with the wires now. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jendavid1000/2954055283/in/set-72157607918227004/
