I love this image from myumisays31. I don't know where it's from, but the wall looks like long velvet and the "tree" is a "feather tree". The rich colors and sultry quality of the room are worth bookmarking. Very Lenny Kravitz.
Quote of the Day from Pic Above: I recently upgraded to a laptop and have my old desktop in the "outbox" (just waiting to donate the CPU and recycle the gargantuan monitor)...having less wires and less of a presence (that monitor was HUGE) is making a world of difference in my bedroom! - UWSretreat

It is an absolute pleasure to check in with you all today and I'm impressed how well this Cure seems to be going. Usually spirits can be pretty low around this time. Keep up the good work and don't forget to list the things you accomplish in this or Monday's post.
Because this week is about the office, I'm curious how much work you all do at home.
This Week's Assignment: In the Deep Treatment, among other things you are diving into the home office and tackling all the computer and electrical tangles that you may have. You are also considering a Media Fast, which is a rather radical part of our household cleaning binge.
As for wireless technology, this simply offers a tremendous design advantage that eliminates wires and clutter for those who work at home on laptops, which is also now easy and inexpensive to set up. Our Unplggd site was started specifically to aid in this area...
In the One Room Workout you will be getting into real color, painting color that is. We had a great time writing this part of the book and remembering all that we had learned over the years about painting. In particular, we were happy to be able to lay out some healthier paint alternatives, though we've found it hard to integrate these choices into NYC life. We'd be interested to hear any tips on this subject.

We will be pulling comments and pics to the front page post on each of these days and everyone is urged to take pics and post them here.
REMEMBER: The goal is to use the group to support, inspire and answer questions as you go. The more you participate, the more you will get out of it. But you may also lurk if you are shy ;-).

Thanks for the love! I found this picture on Flickr. I think it is a lounge in dc. Metro 23? I put it in my style tray folder and now I can't remember who took it. I'll do some more research because I want to give due credit!

Found it! Metro23taipei on flickr. That's funny, it IS very Lenny Kravitz! It looks so incredibly tactile. Now, I want to paper my living room with purple velour and I think the tree would be perfect for christmas- white with chandelier baubles on it? Yes, please!

Hey, that's my desk : ) . I have cleaned it up quite a bit, pared down. I'm looking into a wireless setup; since I've cleaned out our credenza I now have a nearby out-of-the-way place to store a printer and a router. I'm hoping after Christmas I'll be able to get a laptop and get wifi in the house.

JenDavid99, I love your desk! Where do you keep all of your files and other desk-related stuff?!

Thanks, Lizzy -- I now keep all bills and personal papers in one drawer of a file cabinet that my husband has in his closet in our bedroom,

And I keep extra office supplies, paper and envelopes behind doors in the credenza, which is just a few feet away. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jendavid1000/3019741783/in/set-72157607918227004/
The only files I keep here are 'Budget', 'Unpaid Bills', and 'To Be Filed', LOL. I used to keep everything stuffed in my two shallow desk drawers and kept my unpaid bills under my keyboard, which became quite mountain-like. This is a much better arrangement.
And here are my drawers, so to speak:

Things I've accomplished:
Number 1 has to be not backsliding and getting my cured areas messy again.
Getting in the habit of cleaning my floors regularly.
Purging books, and putting them up on the shelf.
Totally loving my living room more, it's so cozy now with the new sofa and books in there.
