Okay, so it's Saturday and we're finishing off our Cure (even though we haven't done as much as all of you), with a dinner party tonight for some new friends. They're coming at 4pm (early, because they have a small child too), Sara's been cooking all day and I'm doing the table. I'm going to document the whole thing as best I can...
Prepping for the dinner party tonight.
1. Sara Kate invited our friends last week, and also started cooking on Thursday after we'd had an amazing dinner at a local restaurant. We had a wrapped pork loin (in bacon) and the chef (who she spoke to afterwards) told her he wraps the pork two days ahead of time. So she did.
2. My inspiration for the table is to a. use it as an excuse to clean up the downstairs and b. use shells from the beach, which I found this morning on our walk (we're not in the city, but at my family's house on Springs).

- Our dining table in typical fashion: covered in crap after breakfast....

- Went shopping and stopped by the beach. Cold but nice. Found these big shells and thought to use them for candleholders tonight.

Washed them and set them out to dry.

- Also picked up some nice wine from our favorite wine shop in town. The aglianico is recommended for the pork that Sara's making.

- Sara stirring and cooking down thin slices of onion.

- After she'd peeled the roast beets. Lovely color.

- The table a few hours later. Clear and ready for setting... the sun is fading fast!

- dinner table is ready (we're, however, cooked, our lovely guests have just left and we're needing to go to bed. It's 11pm.

GENERAL INFO ---------------------------------------------
The Fall Cure is live again in all four of our Home city sites. The Cure posts will go up twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, allowing for plenty of comment space. We will be pulling comments and pics to the front page post on each of these days and everyone is urged to take pics and post them here.
REMEMBER: The goal is to use the group to support, inspire and answer questions as you go. The more you participate, the more you will get out of it. But you may also lurk if you are shy ;-).

Oh gosh, I totally failed on this cure! Oh well, I'm still planning on doing all the projects, it'll just have to be at my own speed... maybe I'll just get prepared and do the spring cure instead...

Yes, this fall cure is definitely a good set up for the spring cure! I am so behind!

Yeah, I know what you guys mean. I may have not done everything, but my place is much better than it was before the cure started (and the improvements are still coming). Hopefully for the spring I'll be able to do more things that I want to (I'm definitely painting in the spring...).
