For those of you who are new, starting this week starting a Spring home makeover project by following the eight chapters of our book, Apartment Therapy: The Eight Step Home Cure, and, because many hands make light work, we're doing it together.

The goal? To invest in our own homes through either elbow grease, money or both and make our own homes beautiful, healthy and organized. Again, we're also holding the Cure in four cities: CH, SF, LA and NY, so you can join a group that's close to you. A new signup and this week's assignment is below the jump...

Sign Up First: This year we're introducing an official sign up which you will find at the bottom of this post. It is meant to improve the experience and support you as you take on your own challenge in the next eight weeks. After you read through, head down there and sign up.

This Week's Assignment: Get your hands on a copy of the book and read through page 69. This gives you all the ground work and gets you started with the interview and short quiz on the health of your home.

The Cure posts will go up twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays, allowing for plenty of comment space. We will be pulling comments and pics to the front page post each week and everyone is urged to take pics and post them to this great Flickr pool or simply tag them with "apartmenttherapycure." See our old pics here too.

The Fall Cure is live in all four of our Home city sites:

Chicago & their Flickr group
San Francisco & their Flickr group
Los Angeles & their Flickr Group
New York & our Flickr group

Please choose the site nearest your home to join, but feel free to browse on all!

NOTE: We're having trouble pulling up the Book Blog right now, but should have it up by tomorrow and will post to the front of the blog to notify you

gretchenalexis:
163 people signed up. Obviously Maxwell didn't list them all.

How did those foreigners get there? I was unable to register because I had no state or Zip to enter. This is my second post on the subject... I'm from Canada, so feeling left out and eager to sign up, I just registered as being from Vermont... Is that wrong?

Also, I'm ChristinaBadina here, but ce_pelle on Flickr....

Hey, feeling like a moron here...I've been trying to sign up but can't find an 'official' sign up anywhere.
Thanks.

Doug--maybe try explorer if you're using another browser? it's probably something about how the page is displaying for you.

The link to the NY Fall Cure above just links to the NY website. We need better, really obvious links to all the Cure threads!!

Hm. It displayed fine in Firefox from both Windows and Safari for me, so there's something odd going on with your installation, fbl. :)

Pixie: It would be nice to have a page for the cure such as there is for the Small Space, etc contests.

I'm with Pixie and Doug in DC -- it would be nice to be able to find any city's Cure without having to scroll through all the recent posts.

(and, still nattering about the "sign-up", the list above, with cities and states, is one reason I didn't want to sign up -- I choose not to publicize my location in anything other than very generic terms.)

I signed up, declined the diploma at the end, and just put in my nom de plume and my city. No address (in the address spaces, I instead typed in that I didn't want the diploma mailed to me.) That's how I got on the list.

I don't like this "give your name & address" in order to sign up. The diploma can be sent via email, if you ask me. Pixie, how did you sign up without entering name/address?

ah...nevermind.

I just put in Pixie everywhere that asked for a name and, instead of entering my address, I typed into those spaces that I didn't want a diploma sent.

Does the international group have a flickr site? If not, should I just join in with a random group in the US?
