Weird. You spend an hour working on a post, honing it, perfecting it, caring for it deeply, and then you spend five minutes on an idea that just strikes you as true and funny, and it is the second that wins the Popularity Lottery.
We were struck by the inanity and repetition of certain words used on Craigslist by people dressing up rather plain furniture and it turned out to be a big hit. It went around the web and then jumped out onto the pages of Metro NY this morning. (Thanks, Michele!) MGR
Other late entrees:

While I detest the idea of Shabby Chic, it is an adequate descriptor for that specific kind of look. Unless somebody is just selling crap and CALLING it Shabby Chic. THEN it sucks.
It's not you, it's your colons. You can't use them for some reason. Just take them all out and your post will be fine, unless it really is steamy...
"Eames era" is a big one on ebay
This was a hard one. As much as I dislike "Shabby Chic" the term "Designer" really irrates me. Everything ever human made was designed by someone. If "Designer" is a selling point, name the designer.
But what is even more annoying is listings for Art Deco for items which are not. And I fear it will only get worse no that it is back in demand. Go to eBay and type it in the search.
(Continued from above)See how many inappropriate items come up. Thank you for letting me vent. I feel better now.
I think using the term "mid century" for some crappy furniture made in the 50's is misleading. Most of us could not afford to buy the designer made 50's furniture and the mainstream stuff was really awful. Just take a look at old family photos.
For some reason, although I've kept re-wording and re-wording it, I keep getting bumped for "questionable content." However, the absolute most objectionable term is "will go fast." How could I have forgotten?!
