apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Newsweek Likes Small, Cool 2006!

3-6-newsweek1.jpgWe just heard that the Smallest, Coolest Contest is in this week's Newsweek Magazine. Check it out here. They feature pics of Robert and P2's apartments as well a some candid interview snippets including this one:

[P2] says the contest isn't for the thin-skinned since the site allows viewers to critique. "You're having total strangers say they hate your sofa," he says.

Potential small apartment submitters and thin skinners take note! If you have got some great ideas, this is becoming an even better forum for sharing them and getting your creativity out into the world.

Hilarious with the Grey Gardens piece below... Talk about a pair who needed apartment therapy.

Congrats Maxwell and the AT Team. I guess you guys have hit the big time.

On a personal note, this morning I was brushing my teeth and all of the sudden I thought "Today is the first day of the Contest!" It took quite a bit of self-control not to jump on the computer right then and instead force myself to get to work on time. (And really, I am obviously being very productive.) I am quite the internet-whore but I can't think of any other website "event" that I eagerly anticipate. Congrats again.

Go go go AT! Keep on spreading the word about living wisely and well. This adds to the fun and excitement of the contest kickoff, Congrats.

Paul -
Yes! VERY funny to have the AT piece on the same page with Grey Gardens.

And although it's meant to be a totally separate piece, the truth is that Grey Gardens was the perfect illustration of "What you own can actually own you." That enormous house had obviously been lovely when that family was faring well, so much early.

But things have to be maintained or they get in a terrible, terrible state. They ended up living in a fairly small portion of their total square footage and not nearly as well as they might have in a smaller space.

yeah Curtis, but they had raccoons!

sorry, I LOVE Grey Gardens. and double love that some comic at Newsweek put AT on the page with those fabulously demented ladies.

do you have an excellent publicist, or are you managing all this on your own Maxwell?
either way, WELL DONE!
