The Grey Lady Takes a Fat Look at Blogs

2005_1_27_blog.jpgFlatteringed. Did we open up the paper this morning and see our own picture? Sure did. Nerdy picture (Grace, that little minx, gets front and center with that sultry, come hither look...and Harry looks NOBLE).

But to the point. Our hat is off to the Old Lady. Despite a dust-up earlier this year as we posted with abandon and stepped on a few toes, rather than get all defensive, the Lady has blogged us. Good for them.

Hot Off the Web: Gossip and Design Guidance

It's by super acoomplished Lockhart Steele of Curbed (and, soon, everything else in this town....) Now, back to work. (Thanks, Sara A., Mary H., and all the readers Lockhart contacted!) (Photo: Paxton) MGR

I was all ready with pithy comments after I got the e-mail from Lockhart but it is a great piece!

Awesome coverage, great pic (albeit surreally domestic... or is it domestically surreal?!) and EXCELLENT vase handling.

Interesting about the semi-hidden Vitra promotion from/at DesignSponge. Hmmmm.

But now I sooooooooooooo want a cool name like Lockhart Steele!

Okay, in your mind's eye, conjure the same image - but with a Banana Bunker in place of the vase.

Yay! I'm in the paper! I know it's old hat for sara a. to be in the papers, but I haven't been quoted in one since I was in middle school...

I almost didn't open the email because I thought it was such an obviously fake name -- it reminded me of "Gideroy Lockhart" from Harry Potter or the detective out of an old noir film.

Great article...
Am I the only to think Max looks like Tintin??? At least in this picture!!!

Mary, I was also wondering who on earth had a name like that. "Lockhart Steele". Can I admit that during slow moments yesterday morning I was having some minor fantasies about "Lockhart Steele"? I am really, how could I not?

Congrats.I think this warrants the use of the smug editorial "we," even if just for the day.

Oops, I misquoted. Should've been smarmy editorial we :)
