DVR: Cheaper TiVo

DVR image.gifThis is not an ad. It just looks like one (how do you stop the damn picture from changing?). We don't have a television, but when visiting friends who do, it is clear that skipping commercials and watching only what you want to watch makes the experience much more bearable. We have also been reading that Time Warner's DVR service is pretty good and, at $9 a month, a deal.

Amy Langfield says:
Never having used Tivo, I can say the DVR is pretty cool. The main benefit is that we can watch "The Daily Show" over breakfast instead of CNN, which seems to be dumbing down more toward the Chatty Cathy format every day. (Amy's Note Book)

And MUG says:
We fear for TiVo. (MUG)

What do you say? MGR

I haven't tried TiVo but I've tried DVR [with Cox here in California], and it's wonderful. Highly recommended.

I LOVE my DVR. Once you have it, you just cannot watch a generic cable box anymore. I like to think of it as a time-saving device. Why spend a full hour of your time watching a show, when you can triple speed fast forward and watch it in half the time??

And the best part is never having to worry about taping more than one show at once. I think you can record three at once on the DVR, as long as you are watching one of those.

Lots of great options..I could go on and on!!!
