Perfect for watching Maxwell's Oprah debut today! Andy at Play Engine told us about this widescreen LCD.
What's so eco-friendly here? The casing is made of easily renewed bamboo, not plastic. The panel is 19" in size, so it's good for small spaces. And, from what we can see in the photo, the bamboo is more attractive than that gray plastic found on most electronics. We do wonder if the base is removeable, as, in our opinion, this would look even better if it were wall-mounted.

Very cool! I like also watching Maxwell on "Small Space, Big Style."
It's ugly. Maxwell is cool.
I think it could look good with Danish furniture. I see it is in England - Do any of you tech savvy people know if there would be an issue with cords/systems etc. in the USA???
How many freaking Pierres are there! The flat screen is not uguly, and I have no opinion on Maxwell. But, he seems like a nice guy.
I hate that there is someone using my name.
Most electronics today will work on either 110V 60Hz or 230v 50 Hz. The link to the tech manual doesn't work so those specs are anyone's guess.
As to usefulness as a TV - forget it.
European sets use PAL whereas we have NTSC. This set doesn't have a digital (ATSC) tuner, so its built-in tuner will be obsolete in two years.
The analog inputs are most likely PAL, so you can't feed it from your DVD player or set-top/DVR box.
It does have DVI in so if your STB/DVD/DVR etc have DVI out you're oK. Most don't though. MY Comcast DVR for instance has component, S-video (won't work on a PAL only device) and HDMI.
About wall mounting - it's only 19". If you're going to mount in a closet or over your offce desk that's fine, but 19" is way too small for a living room TV. Ever try to read subtitles on one of those from across a room?
Nice idea, but what it basically comes down to is $480 for a desktop PC monitor.
Also there's very little about this that's eco-friendly. Bamboo is cool (but word is don't use it for flooring as it warps and dents easily). Lead free manufacturing is nice. But lead is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to hazardous substances in electronics manufacturing. There is no such thing (yet) as a "green" monitor.
This looks nice though. :-> If it came in a 50" or larger I might me interested, but only for looks, not "green" factor because "green" advertising in electronics is so far just a scam.
Keith, you may prefer a large screen television, but I, for one, am very happy with my 20" screen. Small apartment, small living room, small TV. May not work for everyone, but it works for me.
... and I'm drooling over this bamboo beauty...
