Aya Koike's Sofa Brick 2

Modular Cork. Composed of 95% cork gain(shavings of cork stopper) and 5% non-toxic urethane binder, Sofa Brick 2 is a textural, soft cork brick that can be used as wall decor or padded flooring. Part of designer Aya Koike's Parasite Furniture series, the bricks modestly adapt existing environments...

We think this would look great in a tiny entry way, lining the walls. (Though it could easily cross the boundary into padded-room-crazy-house if overdone.) The accoustic benefits of cork are also a plus. If you love the look but can't imagine these on a large scale, we can see using a few of these bricks as decorative trivets for hot serving dishes. Manufactured by Nagayanagi, email Aya Koike to order.

I imagine these would make a cool and tactile headboard.

are they removable? I think they might be an interesting way to baby-proof sharp wall corners or a coffeetable.
