Oeuf's New Walnut Nursery

New Oeuf Nursery in Walnut - doesn't this room just feel like Brooklyn?

Sophie over at Oeuf is giving up the blond and going brunette. Indeed, the days of light wood seem to be over as everything heads into the dark, espresso, ebony realm.

We just recieved pics of Oeuf's newest dark creations: the walnut stain nursery collection and the new mini-library (which remains blond). We have to say we DO like the darker styling and think it shows off the white form of the furniture much better. All of this can be found at all of these stores.

if "the days of light wood seem to be over as everything heads into the dark, espresso, ebony realm," i can only cheer. but what i don't get is what is up with teh furniture where the wood is so sealed with espresso that the grain is invisible. it might as well as be plastic. if we could get back to a less heavy-handed stain, i'd cheer more.

the oeuf pieces look flimsy, which some people might find chic, if they weren't flimsy.

I'm happy for dark wood also, because I was thinking of getting some of the dark Ikea-Malm dresses, but was worried that espresso may be too trendy and on its way out. It seems that all the modern furniture stores here have had dark wood for the last few years (in Toronto). I guess wood color goes in cycles anyway, and you never know when oak will be back in style...

but, it has occurred to me that you may only be referring to the children's furniture, or even maybe to just the oeuf collection. In any case, I like the bed and the dresser, but I agree that the shelves look flimsy.

Why is Oeuf so expensive? I like their designs but isn't all the white stuff MDF?
