The Villa Sibi Modernist Dollhouse by Christoph Bitzer and Wolfgang Sirch ($700) is only available for ONE WEEK. Here is part of the run down:
Modeling an International style, it features beautiful birch buildings with sliding Plexiglas walls, landscaped gating and garden decking, a separate indoor lap pool, and beech-wood custom furniture.
Furniture is included, but scale-size Philip Johnson and Le Corbu having martinis on the sofa are not... (Thanks, Micheal!) MGR

Many other retailers, myself included, have this item and will have it for more than just one week...so buy it from a little guy (even if it isn't me).
That "one week only" thing is a weird ploy. But is it wrong that I soooo want this dollhouse?
(Mark-- cool site/stuff you have there!)
I used an empty bookcase as a dollhouse when I was little. That was the first thing that I thought of when I saw this. Mine was better, obviously, because of multiple levels. And far more frugal.
I used the empty shelf of our TV cart and looted the living room tchotchke collection for dollhouse furniture. My parents would have laughed and laughed if I asked for a $700 dollhouse.
Mark, now I totally want robot wall decals and I have no kids. Is that wrong?
Don't even get me started on adults wanting "kid's" products...I could go on for days. My basic philosophy is this - a great product is a great product and it will appeal to adults as well as kids. If you buy your kid things that you don't think are great, then what are you teaching them to like???
$700 for a dollhouse? Dollhouse? Give me a break!
In my entire childhood, $700 wasn't spent on toys, let alone one item.
That buys a lot of books.
Money aside, I distinctly remember a boxy, modern dollhouse with boxy, modern wood furniture that my parents got for me in 1972. I hated it. It felt like playing with blocks, and at that point I was proud of the fact that I was too grown-up to play with blocks. I wanted dollhosue furniture with full Victorian detail, full of wood curlicues and drawers that really opened and little handles made of real metal.
please, parents, don't inflict your own adult concept of design upon children. If your daughter wants her dolls to live in Versailles, then accept it, she really does ... she'll grow out of it.
You can get that house from Kid O for $580.

Thanks for the tip john keyes. Like the other patrick now I want one too. It would make a great sculptural object for any room.
Now, if I just had an available surface to justify its purchase.
I love mniatures and this one is sublime. I was going to buy it at kido for the 580 but then when I was about to checkout it turned to 600 for some reason plus 26 for shipping...so I searched and searched and finally found it for 599 free shipping at www.zacandzoe.com. if anyone's interested thought I'd share it with you .
Nova68.com has this miniature house for $585 + free shipping in the United States.
Also, has anyone ever seen this house in-person? I was wondering about scale. I have several miniature mid-century, modern, and post-modern designed furniture pieces and wondered if the structure would work as a display for these before I buy it.
This is a fabulous modern dollhouse but it occured to me that a creative person could probably make something very similar without spending $600. The format is pretty straightforward and you could add a room or two. Also...if you like modern dollhouses check out the fantastic British Company Dollshouse Emporium at www.dollshouse.com and look under the large dollhouse section for the Malibu Beach House...Outstanding!! Also look in the medium dollhouse area for the fantastic three story Loft Apartment building with the Plexiglass front balconies and the spiral outdoor staircase!! This company ships all over the world and has great customer service. Have fun!!...Dawn in California
It looks absolutely beautiful. But I am afraid that these designers totally forgot that they were supposed to design a dollhouse for kids. And to match the price according to that...
Tell me: What does it matter if you made the most beautiful dollhouse ever, but no kid would never play with that!?
How did I miss this?
The price point isn't for kids. It's for adult collectors. With all furniture included, it's about par with other collector-focused houses, maybe even on the low side.
I love-love-love my sparse modern dollhouse that my father built many years ago, though it's currently incongruously full of Victorian furniture because I can't find mod stuff that fits.
