Broome Street Loft: Kitchen and Bath

Designed by Brooklyn-based Loadingdock5, this loft on Broome Street has an airy lightness that we're finding downright irresistible. It's all white, but things here aren't too spic-and-span, which is part of what we're liking...

The imperfect tin ceiling and exposed pipes are visible in all spaces of the loft, passing right over any division of space. The kitchen cabinets flash a little egg-yolk-yellow at us, while the rest of the home floats in serene whiteness.

Two little details we're really digging: the hidden storage shelf on the side of the Corian bathroom sink. Perfect for storing a few everyday bathroom products. And the recessed refrigerator in the kitchen. It tucks so neatly into the wall, we can't imagine it freestanding out in space. For a look at the rest of the loft, visit Loadingdock5.

You can go to a counter shop and have them cut the Corian in any dimension you want. Recreating the sink would be pretty easy. Could be done with other materials also and just a Corian top.

Is that a mirror directly across from the toilet? I vote NO on that! (Look at pics 3 & 4.)

Otherwise, LOVE that table in the bathroom!

Wow, almost NO storage space in either the kitchen or bathroom. I like the way it looks, but am afraid it'd be completely unrealistic.

I find the bathroom a little too 'hospital chic'. The overall light and airiness in the apt seems great from these pictures. Do love the kitchen table and tin ceiling.

I like the styling but where's the colour, where's it's personality?

I love clean, white, and modern, but this is a little too sterile for me. The best part of a clean white apartment is the ability to make small objects pop with color, only this one is lacking anything to pop. Instead it's just . . . empty.

Great kitchen. Needs another shelf above the sink.

I am so sick of seeing the stereotypical Subzero/Viking range combo. For the most part Sub Z and Viking products are horrible with some of the worst owner experiences and reliability in the whole business. People need to stop buying just for the name. Other than that, it is a great space.

I really would not be happy with the kitchen. No storage space for dishes & glasses or dry goods. And that "rustic" table doesn't fit at all.
Otherwise, cool space. Like the bedroom (from what we can see) a great deal and the bathroom.
