Mmmm, all-star bathrooms. Best-of-the-best manufacturers E15, Dornbracht, and Alape have joined forces and brought us New Places, a collaborative collection for bathrooms. The designs combine E15's chunky wooden aesthetic with Dornbracht's cool fixtures and Alape's innovation.
The result is simply stunning bathroom spaces that are an inspiration this Bathroom Month...

i heart bisazza! it's wicked what they do w/ tile.
these are beautiful bathrooms, but i think i actually prefer my little 5x7 ft subway-tiled and target-towelled bathroom. a bathroom bigger than a three-car garage would whig me out, i think.
The above comment clearly shows your target audience, and why I'll be deleting your RSS feed subscription soon, so just go back to those porly decorated apartment photos your "target" audience sends it...
hey don't drag me into this!
I'm a target audience and I LOVE LOVE LOVE these bathrooms!
I could have sworn I saw a target in Manhattan last time I visited. This was a couple of years ago but it was at least 15 years since the first visit. I came up from the subway and saw this huge building and I think it was a Target. I was really shocked because I wasn't expecting changes on that kind of scale. When I think of NYC I don't think of Target, Chilis, Red Lobster, Wal-Mart. We have Target in Chicago too but for some reason I thought NY would be immune to the same sort of suburbanization that takes place here. I'd feel really stupid if that wasn't a Target I saw.
Point is, it's not going anywhere now and not everyone can afford to buy towels at Frette.
But what I really want to know is how to shop for any of these super-cool wood bathroom pieces, the website seems so esoteric.
Perhaps someone could explain to me why snarky comments like the 2nd one above have to be made??? Is it not "cool", or acceptable to have likes that are a bit different from what's mostly shown on this site? Are those of us who must shop at Target, Kmart or Walmart - or do without - to be looked down upon because we can't afford to spend $30-40 per bath towel?? Are we on the wrong website? Why was it necessary to personally attack kd and his/her taste?
kd, I'm with you - I think experiencing something like what's in the photo's would be fun - like in a day spa situation. Live with it? Not for me.
They did say they are leaving.
But what's the difference? They don't like Target and you don't like big beautiful bathrooms?
Hello...
"Target" audience is not a reference to a store.
/ Duh!!
// Duh again!!
Big, beautiful bathrooms? To look at, dream about - gawd yes! To live with, clean, deal with on a daily basis? My personal preference is my smallish, well organized one. My best friend would knock down the neighbor's house to be able to add on a bathroom like the above, and I'd help her because I love her dearly. That's just one of the differences between our personalities that make our conversations so interesting.
thanks, oceandreamer! i appreciate your comments :)
what's funny to me is that my brother and i just spent thousands of dollars renovating our bathroom and so spending hundreds of bucks on friggin TOWELS was just not gonna happen. but i doubt this is about towels, eh?
i guess i am part of some lowbrow audience. fine. at least down here it's relatively pleasant!
can someone please tell me if they know the name and manufacturer of the last sink pictured?
many thanks!
That would be Alape with a Dornbracht fitting.

Blowing out a big breath there.
First, I'd like to apologize to everyone here. "C"'s comments sounded like a put-down, and C - if they weren't I owe you the biggest apology.
I can't remember how I got led to the Apartment Therapy sites a couple of months ago, but I've found a great deal in the way of posts and pictures to encourage my de-cluttering projects, and now that my son is pretty much grown (did the single parent thing with no child support) I'm finally beginning to have the resources to try to develop a sense of style that will incorporate my favorite hand-me-down, thrift store and yard sale finds into something that looks cohesive. I finally got the courage to paint my kitchen and dining area wall with colors that I absolutely love, and that's due to seeing what other people here have done in their homes.
There are times I think, "I wouldn't have done that", but most of these people like what they've done, and are proud of what they've learned and accomplished. Some people have posted very helpful comments, but too many times I've seen comments ranging from rude to downright mean, and I just don't get why those comments have to be made.
This is probably not the place for this little rant so now I'll apologize for that, and for writing a novel in explanation, too. ;-)
oceandreamer, i dunno why you're apologizing! but ok, if you want to! i swear, i've posted like, 5 comments so far. i'm green. super green. been reading here a while, but never posting. now i am. whoop! i won't let the snarkiness get me down. i know online stuff, social skills usually go out the window. don't let it get you down!
Thanks kd, I'm new at this also. If you ever decide to post a photo of your bathroom be sure to let us know. For some reason, I'm facinated with the subway tiles.
Now, I'd like to ask if someone with a better moniter than mine can see if, in the third picture down - are those the water faucet handles on the front of the console?
And this may sound like a really silly question, but I'm a beginning dyi-er - if I decide to paint my bathroom, do I have to remove the toilet to get to the wall behind it? Or just tape the tank and get as far behind it as a brush will reach?
ocean, here's a larger version of the image.

i'm still at a loss hehe
Thanks again, kd! I'm thinking so...
I've really got to get out of this small town more often and get to some of these shows. I can hope that one day I won't have rental restrictions to deal with and can incorporate some of the things I've seen on the various AT sites. Of course, in that dream I don't have the money restrictions, either! I saw a shower tile thingy that mounts in the ceiling - on man! I want one!!!
I'm not sure why it's so hard to comprehend that a lot of the feature stories are intended for "inspiration". Many times I've come across things that are way out of my price range, or just wouldn't fit in my humble home, but it almost always sparks some creative thinking. I love the challenge of finding a look-alike product in my price range, or even to have the "goal" of one day owning an original.
