We're proud of CB2 (advertising prowess aside). They may be a bit slow and they are rarely fashion forward, but with their new catalog finally out, we can finally appreciate that old dogs DO learn new tricks. This is a really nice new line of home products. And no more looking at dull product shots. These pictures are LUSH, and the price points are LOW.
This top pic is a perfect example of their bid to beat the pants off of West Elm: The bedding is all cotton and designed by Marimekko ($25-$100). The bed is industrial steel, super clean looking and not breakable ($350-$500). The lucite table comes in a set of three for $199 and the Roland Simmons lights are a great design but not easy to find - until now ($119-$250).

the splash lights seem like a really great idea! has anhone used them? is there anything else like them on the market?
Got the catalog this past weekend -- really well done. West Elm had better watch out!
I like the catalog, too.
Speaking of the lucite tables...they are really great when you see them in person. My friend has the lucite console as her desk and it looks so perfect with her shiny white Apple laptop sitting on it. I love it.
I agree, the catalog was really well thought out, nice to look at and surprisingly good price points. While I think West Elm has greatly improved over the last year, this will be an interesting battle.
Any word on the quality of the actual pieces? I wonder if it holds up under closer inspection
I too would like any thoughts about quality. This "True low" dresser caught my eye on Design Sponge:

There are other pieces in that line too.
I finally got the catalog yesterday.
Frank- yes you are right, West Elm watch out!
By the way I ordered a coffee table from CB2 for a client a few months ago.
The table was was delivered damaged (looked like a repair job).
But customer service was great, they let us hold on to the damaged table before the new arrived (which only took a week or so) and the new one looks great.
Always check your merchandise when you get something delivered- you never know!
I just ordered the catelogue and got this email:
Hello,
We look forward to sending you the very first CB2 catalog. It's currently in production, and as soon as it's ready you'll be among the first to receive it.
I guess they need to update their autoresponse email now that the catelogue is out.
I got this in the mail Monday and it totally rocked my world. They have these neat glass vases for $4 each, I kid you not, and they're actually quite pretty. CB2 looks like one of those $50 shopping spree catalogues. Kind of like Target and Delias. Just wonderful!
