We recently found the work of Jared Flood on his blog, Brooklyn Tweed. His warm knits are made for the body and for the home and, according to his book, Made in Brooklyn, are very much rooted in a sense of place.
"Throughout the weeks and months spent conceiving of, knitting, writing and photographing these designs, I became increasingly indebted to Place as the primary informant of this work—the Places that inspired it, the Places that housed its growth, and perhaps most importantly, the Places through which the work will pass after leaving my hands.
I hope you enjoy this collection—inspired by the streets and avenues on which I walk every day. May these works delight your own love of process as much as they have mine."
We've gathered some of Jared's beautiful photography of his work here. This imagery alone speaks to us about that very sense of place he holds so important in his work.
For more, see Brooklyn Tweed and find his book, Made in Brooklyn, right here.
I love Jared Flood's knit designs. I am a knitter and I follow him on ravelry.com. He's very talented!

Is there a reason you did the blog link to a 2007 archived post?

I am a committed reader of Jared's blog - his knitting is wonderful, his writing is evocative and his photography is outstanding. Glad you featured him. If you are interested in looking at his book, I hope that some of you might consider looking for it at an independent yarn shop - many of them have excellent book selections.
