The Native American patterns found on many of Pendleton's wool blankets would look striking in a modern interior. Graphic and bold, these five blankets are our favorites from Pendleton's many options...

I'm sure they are super high quality but I just can't get into the whole native-american decor aesthetic.

my granparents collect native american art (navajo rugs, kachina dolls, pottery, sculptures, etc) and i love their home but i am not sure how these blankets fit into a modern home. is there a good picture example of how you envision these blankets working?

I dream of pendleton blankets. There are many much more plain and graphic patterns than this.

I have one of these (Sauninga, from the National Museum of the American Indian). I got it as a gift. It's a beautiful blanket but it's so bold, whenever I have it out it's the dominant piece in the room!

Working the strong patterns of some Native American blankets can be challenging. They are beautiful, bold and rich in nature.

Often you find contrasting colors that draw the eye’s attention. My family had a couple of amazing blankets in our home growing up. My mother incorporated their strong impact by allowing them to be the star. She draped them over the couch which was a deep red and the carpet was also a deep warm color. Colors like Valspar's "Oatlands Uphostry Red" or a toffee color like "Vienna Biege".

The colors of these blankets tend to be cool in temperature. Surrounding them with warm walls is a great way to let them shine. Colors like "Oregon Coast" which is a warm medium beige; or a soft neutal color like "Oatbran" would also add depth. The clean lines of modern furniture lend themselves beautifully to the geometry of these blankets.

Hope this helps you incorporate these beautiful textiles into your home!
