NY Good Questions: Modern Bedding Similar to W.S.H?

1.24bedding.jpgHello AT,

So I am ready to step outside of the world of all white bedding, and have been looking for something simple, modern, and casual.

I finally found exactly what I want, but a bit too late.

The attached image is of bedding on sale at Williams Sonoma Home, and all they have left is the King size sham.

I've already called to check their stores and there's nothing left.

Has anyone seen anything similar?

I don't like most of the border-stripe hotel-style collections as I think they're too formal.

I liked the unexpected big fat stripe down the center, and the neutral color scheme of this collection. Thanks! Erin

When I got tired of my white bedding, I tie-dyed it. But you can also do solid colors or Rothko-like designs. Fabric dye costs about a buck in the grocery store.

Have you called their outlet shop out in Riverhead? The folks work there are very helpful.

The Williams-Sonoma Home bedding picture reminds me of area bedding. Unison is also simple and modern.

Check ebay. A lot of discontinueds can be found on ebay because some sellers use outlet branches to source the items they sell. If it just got discontinued, it may take 3-6 months to show up. Check daily. Some people list the most sought after items as "buy it now".

The picture looks like a bedspread rather than a duvet cover. If this is the case, as a backup, you could have the bedspread made by any competent seamstress. The center stripe is a great thing because you won't need extra wide fabric (as would typically be the case) to make the bedspread.
