Next on our Color Roundup is blue − the calm, tranquil color of the sky and sea. Blue is considered a dependable color; it’s always there for us. In fact most people answer blue when asked their favorite color. Although people tend to shy away from using it in their home.
It may be because people think of blue as a sad color. But it can actually be relaxing, restful and meditative, especially the deeper, smokier shades. And for rooms that are more sociable, like the kitchen or living room, consider lighter, brighter shades. But if too much blue does make you feel down, just add a few warm, colorful accents.

A few years back a friend from a painting studio class told me her grandmother had been to visit and could tell all my paintings. She said I used a lot of blue & that my house must have a lot of blue too.
Amazingly, 1/2 the paintings literally had NO blue in them! But now that she told me that, I find I DO paint a lot with blue and my decor has gotten bluer and bluer... lol!
I think blue is the best for random surprise color that's not too overpowering...

I have many shades of blue running throughout my loft. The walls are brick (and huge), so the blue accents really provide a nice balance to a warmth that threatens to be...overbearing.
I need to know: *Who* makes that awesome blue & white striped bedding?!?? Wow.
