Taking Cues from GQ

img alt=

Our little brother used to sleep on top of his sheets to avoid the chore of making his bed every morning. Hence, we're a little hesitant to take advice on 30-second bed-making from men's magazine GQ.

But, we gave it a read and their advice is leagues above little bro's method. Plus they offer an entire section on bedroom upgrades. The best tip we saw in here was to ditch the buzzing alarm clock and wake up to music instead. (thanks for the tip, Michael!)

Is it just me or isn't $477 for that lamp just a tad steep? And, oh, right that's what I can do with my OLD ipod. I was worried.

If this iPod tip is new, I take it GQ has never heard of the clock-radio?

One caveat: if you're a heavy sleeper and have the radio set to NPR, you can look forward to the most bizarre and annoying dreams in which pundits are lecturing you about the situation in Iraq.

I've been keeping all my old ipods in a drawer with all my old socks. It's good to find a use for one of them.

All nice ideas. I wonder if anyone can figure out who makes that bed. It's similar to the Ikea Malm and Eq3 Bossa, but looks a bit more refined.

Any ideas?

Must. Have. That. Paint. Color.

Any ideas what that blue is? I love it. I want it. I need it. I crave it.

I too would like to know who makes that bed. Even with that partial view it looks mighty fine.

I'm always amazed by what people pick up around here. While the iPod suggestion leaves me cold for day to day use, it does strike me as useful if you're on the road. Much nicer to wake up to your own music than whatever you can find on the hotel's clock-radio. And whether at home or abroad, much nicer to sleep through than NPR.
