If a real bed in a small space is what you're after, it's tough to beat this this Barcelona Daybed from Charles P. Rogers. The bed measures just 36w x 41-3/4h x 77-1/2w and can be outfitted with a trundle of equal size that is pulled out when extra sleeping space is needed.
We think this design, with its high frame at the head and foot, could be used up against a wall and double as a sofa in a studio apartment. And the price is pretty good at $999 for the daybed, an extra $259 for the trundle, and $699 for two matresses. The bed is made of hardwood with a stained finish.

My brother bought it for his flat! It fits in a corner of his bedroom in a little nook just that size and he's kitted it out with cushions so it looks like a sofa, but it's actually two extra beds. Pretty great
