Domain Bed

Good modern bed. Researching with clients, we keep coming back to the Domain bed from Room and Board. We like the low, generous design. We like the Tetris fog fabric. We like the price...

Starting at $1k, the Domain has the look and feel of Italian beds that cost far more, and it has sturdy R&B construction with fully upholstered frame and stainless steel legs. This goes on our top ten list.

That's my bed! In my bedroom which I asked Apartment Therapy fo help with:

Course, some folks recommended - *ahem* - that I re-upholster it! NEVER!

I really like the rug, where did you get it?

Great looking bedroom. Nicely done. You're smart not to re-upholster the bed, it is a great color/texture. This room looks so clean. I think the best thing about the open bed is that you are less likely to store anything under it, so you don't get dust bunnies, etc. breeding down there.

Dave,
Your room is at the cusp of perfection... on the other thread someone suggested match stick blinds a quick, cheap fix to go for. I think the white floaty curtains clash with the dark walls and draw attention away from your lovely bed and white linens.
2nd I'd look for a large piece of art to hang above your bed. A fabric hanging would be simple or a grouping of say 3 like framed images would work. Good luck getting your feng to dance with your shui.

I really like the rug too and am also curious where you got it.

Um, that picture above that Maxwell posted is, I assume, a photo from the Room and Board catalog or website, as far as the rug is concerned.

As an Interior Designer in NYC, I have used this bed for a couple of clients who have really enjoyed the clean lines and structural stability! It is an affordable and great looking bed suited for a modern space, or it could help to accentuate more ornate pieces in an ecclectic space!-Hilary White Interior Design

Anyone else curious as to why the chair is pointing at the bed?

I love this bed, but my problem is that most beds look perfect with just a sheet wrapped around the mattress, then the clean form disappears when you put a poofy quilt or comforter on it.

This bedroom looks like a hotel room to me.

I agree with Modfan. I want a bed that maintains this kind of low profile and clean look, but also allows for a comforter to drape over the sides (even an oversized one - I sleep with a blanket hog). Perhaps it requires a wider platform base?

Crisp and streamlined, and looks awfully comfy..
I fancy a little ledge on my bed base for that clean tucked-in design look.

My idea of heaven just the way it is. Add a single flower for color when the mood strikes. Thanks.

I Believe the photo is from the Room & Board website and 2007 catalog.
