Gustavian Style Bed from Viva Terra

Made from reclaimed Douglas fir, this Gustavian Style bed from Viva Terra pays homage to the compromise made between Sweden's King Gustav (who loved ornate French furniture) and the Swedish woodworkers who took "a lot of look"* and created simpler, but just-as-striking furniture...

Maybe I am crazy, but it seems like the headboard part of this could be homemade somewhat easily. It wouldn't be hand planed, but glueing together some textured floor boards and cutting out the shape could get you a similar effect.
