Lloyd Hotel Beds

2005_2_16_bedlloyd.jpg
New Old Amsterdam. In our new issue of ID magazine (not yet online) we saw these beds and thought they should make it into Bedroom Month. Designed by Christoph Seyferth, the Lloyd Table and Lloyd Bed are fixtures of the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam.

Opened last November in an 84 year old building that has been home to a "migrant hotel, a detention center, and an artist colony (though not all at once)", the Lloyd Hotel is a cool new place to stay in this city, with a mix of old and brand, brand new Dutch design.

Bed (and mattress) and table are sold for $1200 and $790 respectively. MGR

Ooooh. What a lovely room. They're both clean and uncluttered but still have a lot of interesting details... I can't say I like that metal bed though. It reminds me of my dorm room. I know they're going for clean-lined and industrial, but the fluffy white bed is so much more inviting. The table would be great, though.

Glad you included this room, the shape of the bed and table supports echo the structure of the room and the window. There are wonderful shades of green on the wall and the furniture.Thanks.

Oddly enough, I find the metal bed inviting. Reminds me of a sleeping-porch cot at a summer cottage. The green paneling helps, too.

the first bed reminded me of a recent visit to Alcatraz.
