With project names like Free Spirit Sphere and Flying Pigsty, the designs are off (or above) the beaten path. These are not your typical treehouses.
One house is suspended from aircraft cables. Another is a geodesic dome structure. Although we unfortunately can't build one in the city, they're worth a look. One of the treehouses is 410 square feet, so it might actually hold some hints for small apartment dwellers like us.
What a wonderful way to "rise above it all"! An adult adaptation of a favorite childhood haunt. When I orginally read the Dwell aritcle, it prompted me to do a G-search and explore the world of tree habitats. I was absolutely agog!
