Blogging Top Design: Premiere Tonight!

Late Start. Who is staying up? Who will use their TIVO/DVR and watch it tomorrow? (and skip all the commercials and "coming up on Top Design"'s) Who will catch one of the thousands of replays on BRAVO?

After all the hype, we're only mildly excited about tonight's episode of Top Design. Reality TV being what it is, we're sure tonight will be full of teasers and "just aheads" in many attempts to get us ready forTop Design's regular timeslot of 10pm starting NEXT week...

We have always been huge fans of Project Runway (and Project Rungay), and we've occassionally watched Top Chef (though we only caught one episode of the season that wraps up tonight). Though BRAVO understands the appeal of watching the process of design, we're nervous Top Design will be too "reality" with "Wall-to-wall drama" all the subway ads promise.

Then again, anything would be better than Design Star! We suppose we'd rather be surprised than let down...look for a synopsis tomorrow and a chance to comment on the first episode!

The thing is that the producers of all the shows do a great job of editing. I think it will be awesome!

I gotta say, what draws me to these shows are the good advertising. The kind of design they use in their subway ads is right up my alley and the kind of design I would do if I were working on their campaign.

But yea, I will be watching too :)

I agree about the hype... it's a bit much. But I miss Project Runway horribly and hope this will be a better way to wait for the new PR season than Top Chef was. (Not one of those contestants has a sense of humor! Where is Santino when you need him?) And I have been a Todd Oldham fan for years; I think he'll bring a terrific spirit to the show.

i dvr all these shows to skip through the commercials. it will be fun to watch the contestants and even more so the judges.

I only get NBC and CBS since I'm broke(ish). I've therefor gotten really into Heroes and Studio 60. Oh well, can't wait for your update.

I've set my Tivo because I have an early meeting in the morning. I'll watch it tomorrow night right after I catch up on tonight's Idol that I missed. And can I just say I'm TOTALLY bummed out about the final result of Top Chef?? :(
