
The New York Times has an interesting story about teak chairs from Chandigarh. A City That Sat on Its Treasures, but Didn’t See Them looks at the world-wide interest in Pierre Jeanneret's teak armchairs. A cousin of Le Corbusier, Jeanneret designed the "V-chairs" out of local materials to furnish the vast offices and government buildings designed by Le Corbusier in the Indian modernist city...




That is the problem with India. They have been sitting on a pot of gold since time immemorial. If they were market savvy they would have been Number 1 country in the world long ago. Much less the imperialist and arrogant country number 1 of today.
