Dwell's How Green Are You? Contest

Dwell and the American Institute of Architects recently hosted the How Green Are You? contest, challenging homeowners to show off their green homes. Now, the winners have been announced, along with a slideshow of their homes...

Winners were selected for reasons from innovative use of recycled materials to low energy consumption. A few of our favorite homes are pictured below. Click here for the full slideshow of winners' homes.

This is a tangent, but I think that buying an older home that is less than 2000 sq. ft. and renovating it to be energy efficient is green. Not only does this reuse an old home, but it encourages people to do something that is financially attainable by a large part of the population. Are there any contests for that type of green home?
