House Tour: Color & Pattern in Israel
NYT 3.12.08

The home of Michael and Nava Abel demonstrates their love of color and pattern. Micheal, an architect, and Nava, an artist, designed and built most of the home themselves. By combining some salvaged building materials and interesting design elements with their love of color, the couple has transformed the interior of the space into a kaleidoscope of rich, jewel tones and hand-painted pattern. The painted floors are our favorite elements in this approximately 1,900-square-foot home near the Mediterranean coast of Israel...

they did a great job of achieving a bold, artistic and colorific look, but it's way too busy for my personal taste.

Not my style, but I love those windows/door opening into the small garden space.

So, that's how you get the kids to go outside and get some excercise.

WOW. I do not personally like this home at all, but I love that these people have such bold taste and really made their home their own in this way. Plus, I'll bet it's a really stimulating environment for the kids, much better than pastels!

I love love love the tiled floors. Ever since i travelled in spain i've loved that look.

I think this house would be fantastic if they did the home-decor equivalent of "taking off the last accessory you put on." In most of the rooms if they subtracted a wall colour and left everything else, the rooms would look fantastic.
