
"H&M and Helmut Lang" Designers and design-lovers will enjoy A Mix of Mass-Market and Couture a New York Times Habitats profile of the Greenpoint, Brooklyn apartment shared by design-couple Alissia Melka-Teichroew and Jan Habranken. Both graduates of the Netherlands' Eindhoven Design Academy, the newlyweds primarily talk about the eclectic mix of furnishings found in their rental apartment. Their own designs are paired with the works of Steve Mosley, Dominic Wilcox, Achille Castiglione and a lot of IKEA. Its like wearing "H&M and Helmut Lang" at the same time. Jan Habranken...

In their office are three adjoining desks: one for him, one for her and one for their shared intern.
And lovely as it might be to have an extra set of hands or an extra brain on a project, it seems to me that having an intern in the home office would ruin some of the charm of working from home, such as teleconferencing in one's underwear and the like.
Lovely place, though. (Although I'll admit to being quite fond of white walls.)
