Sunnyside Gardens Home

Developed in the 1920's as an alternative to overcrowded slums, Sunnyside Gardens in Queens is surrounded by lush vegetation. The New York Times shares the home of Dan Hendrick and Jimmy Van Bramer — bought in 2006 and gut-renovated before they moved in. The renovation stayed true to the proportions and style of a 1920's family home. The home is air-conditioner free and furnished with Craftsman styled pieces...

The renovation included turning the attic into a master bedroom and a new kitchen. Check out the entire story and all the pictures at The New York Times: Hidden Away in Frenetic Queens.
