Now, not all of us are Ikeafans. But, even so, many of us have at least one purchase from Ikea.
And we like to do our research before making that infamous trek out to Elizabeth or Paramus.
That's where Ikeafans comes in. It's a website made up of readers asking questions and sharing information about Ikea. And it's not run by Ikea, but by Susan and James.
We've encountered Ikea's terrible website before, with very little product information. That's why we appreciate Ikeafans, which is full of galleries of product images, planners, measurement conversion calculators, and forums for critical consumers who want to share information with one another.
Once you register, you can comment, download instruction/assembly instructions, add comments, etc. We think Ikeafans is probably helpful even to the non-fan, occassional Ikea-shopper.
Thanks for the connection... tres cool!
Can anyone please share feedback w me on the wooden Nordmyra chair? Comes in an off-white or duck egg blue version which I'm v keen to get, but would like to know test-runs before I commit.
Many thanks!
I put Nordmyra in a beach house that is being rented. It's been a year of continual weekly rentals and the chairs are still in one piece. They're also surprisingly comfortable, though they don't look it. When we were at IKEA we asked people of all shapes and sizes to sit in them. They passed the test. Get the blue.
Thanks, Jennifer!! I fell in love with it when I first saw a pic and felt it was perfect for a breakfast table when I saw the real thing. Unfortunately at the time, the store only had 2pcs left and I needed more, so they were put on hold and I ended up buying other kit for the new place. V pleased w the vote of confidence :)

Now, another example of how AT has lost its soul and is becoming ever more twee...
Why not re-launch and, with honesty, present yourself as an exclusive, high-end merchandise blog - "no proles need apply"?
I found this site last year, and it was great then, but it's FANTASTIC now! Wonderful people and a heck of a resource even for those not necessarily doing IKEA in the kitchen. There's a whole forum for Kitchen Planning and people will design your kitchen for free! Amazing in this day and age of money grubbing websites.
