See My Design: A 3-D Interior Designer

see my design.jpgYou get what you ask for. A few weeks ago I posted that I was looking for a design program to organize rooms from a birdseye perspective. After not buying the $200 home design software and only beginning to check out the possibilities of Visio, I have been lately stumbling around with this website, See My Design.com, which offers home planning tools, INCLUDING a room layout program. The basic stuff is free, by the way. I am not done experimenting, and it is cheesy (the 3-d design stuff. All the furniture you can use looks like it was rendered in the late 80's), but the room layout has potential. Of course, computers may be making this a lot more complicated. MGR

The Arrange-A-Room tool at Better Homes and Gardens is more fun, more interactive, and offers you more variety.

a friend is doing 3d modelling of the furniture, so hopefully it will be more aesthetically pleasing than See My Design.
