apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Sexy Bachelor Pad Interior Design

Is this for real? We know there are plenty of men out there that simply view their apartment as an afterthought — just a place to sleep and shower. But what we didn't know, was that there is a design firm that caters specifically to this type of fella.

Sexy Bachelor Pad is a full service design firm that works with bachelors in the NYC Metropolitan area. They get in and out and try to make the design process as painless as possible for their clients.

Their website is a bit risque; alluding to the only reason to have a sexy bachelor pad is to make your overnight guests feel a bit more comfortable and want to stay longer. While that may be true, we don't believe that's the only reason to spruce up your space a bit!

Why in the world would I hire an interior designer - particularly one with such a narrow focus - who didn't provide any examples of their work outside of "testimonials?"

What the heck are those repeating circles in the top right corner of the first picture? I have visions of someone making horrible wall art out of candy colored condoms...

i don't know... there must be a million interior designers in new york city (or any major city) and 99% of them are catering to women either explicitly or implicitly. why not at least try to carve out an interesting niche? i think it's a good idea. and it has already worked on one level: AT is featuring them right here, garnering lots of attention than the average Joe Queen Interior Design firm ever would. as a guy who has pondered hiring an interior designer, this would catch my eye. but of course a portfolio is a must.

This seems like a joke...or some guerilla marketing ploy a la Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Did anyone else see the photo on the home page with "repurposed" metal letters spelling out the f word on some grass?! Bizarre.

There should be samples of work, I have them on my site. I can't imagine ever contacting a design service that didn't give me any sense of what their worked looked like. Besides, I think as a single NYC girl, I could better answer what would make me stay a few hours longer--clean sheets and towels, real food in the fridge, a comfy sofa.

wow!!
i love the concept and the confident and bold attitude of this company!
not to mention the spaces are fantastic. i spent some time time navigating through the sight and and saw eight full pages of incredibly designed apartments. also, i google searched kimberlee paige hanson and she is all over the industry for over 20 years.
kudos, i wish i had thought of it!!
